Brief

2022 saw the Rugby League World Cup come to England.

To celebrate 200 days to go until the tournament’s opening ceremony, Hatch were tasked with delivering as much positive national, and regional coverage for each of the 18 cities and towns, that will be hosting the competition.

This also included implementing the tournament’s official social media platforms into any activation help promote and grow their social following ahead of the tournament.

Hatch planned, delivered and promoted an incredible 48-hour trophies tour which involved logistics management, content creation, and media distribution throughout. This included:

  • Arranging and managing individual press events at each host towns, and city we visited during the trophies tour, in partnership with local stakeholders.
  • Original content creation at each press event involving the local legends and influencers which was then distributed and promoted across RLWC2021’s social media channels.
  • National and Regional press activity including press release distribution for multiple stages in the build-up and post event which secured global coverage.
  • Interviews set up with Jon Dutton (Chief Executive), Jason Robinson (International Ambassador), Kevin Sinfield (Men’s Ambassador), James Simpson (Wheelchair Ambassador) and many others throughout the two-day event.
