We teamed up with Street Soccer London and CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) to host a Silent Football match, where for the first half of the game, players were not allowed to speak!
This was to show the importance of communication, on and off the pitch.
Paul Merson attended as our spokesperson to media, given his personal experience with mental health problems. We invited media to attend the event, including BBC Breakfast, PA Media, MOTDx, Mundial and Sunday Mirror, and hosted video interviews in front of a branded backdrop.
Influencers Big Zuu & Andrew Willz also attended and shared content across their channels. We then released a full video of the day along with a press release to key target media, plus additional vox pop content across social media from interviews with some of our 40+ players.
Success was all focused on driving as much noise around the event as possible. So while there were no tangible targets, we made sure our activity was in front of millions of eyeballs thanks to interviews across BBC Radio London, Mail Online, BBC News 24, SPORF and across all regional & local newspapers in the UK. We were also featured on BBC’s MOTDx show
