The next Hatchling in our regular Meet The Team feature is our Director, James, aka ‘Peter Pan of PR’…

Name: James Hickman

Job Role: Director

Started at Hatch: July 2008

Q. First things first – how do you like your eggs?

A. Poached. Always.

Q. If you could invite three people to a dinner party, who would it be and why?

A. I’ve thought way too much about these!

Thomas Edison – Most creative guy ever, but sucked at getting things right first time. my Grandad (specifically the 1939-45 period) – never got to ask him as much as I’d have liked about his time as a POW and in particular The March (he apparently carried his friend for much of it), Rosalind Franklin – Self-belief and confidence in herself in the face of adversity. Should have won the Nobel Prize for helping discover DNA, but because she was female was overlooked. Died of cancer aged 37, but composed her own gravestone – “Her Research and Discoveries on Viruses Remain of Lasting Benefit to Mankind.” Bad ass!

Q. What is the oddest possession you own?

A. Franz Carr’s 1991 Nottingham Forest Shirt – I’m a Wolves fan BTW

Q. What has been your career highlight while working at Hatch?

A. Tough one as I’ve been fortunate to do a load of cool work stuff, but our annual team away trips are always a highlight

Q. What is your office nickname?

A. Peter Pan of PR

Q. Time to choose: White Rose or Red Rose?

A. Neither – it’s the Backcountry chains for me.

Q. If you could only ever listen to one song again, which would it be?

A. Turin Brakes – Feeling Oblivion

Q. What is your office snack of choice?

A. Haribo Giant Strawberrys

Q. Which brand would it be your dream to work with?

A. See above.

Q. You’re on a sinking ship with all the Hatchlings, and you only have the power to save one. Who do you choose?

A. It would have to be one of my male counterparts, as if I even dared offering assistance to any of my female colleagues, Lucy and her militant feminism would come down on me like a tonne of bricks.
