The Hatch team had the privilege to work with our client The Wensleydale Creamery to manage the PR for a very special visit by HRH The Prince of Wales.
Having worked with royal aids on a number of projects over the years, timing and protocol are key in making sure a Royal visit runs smoothly. Due to security the weeks of meticulous planning and walk through’s are also done in top secret.
It became clear looking at a full day of Yorkshire royal visits that we needed to really engage with key media contacts to ensure the Wensleydale Creamery visit dominated the headlines and steal a march on PR ahead of the other engagements.
A love for the brand and HRH The Prince of Wales, Patron of the Specialist Cheesemakers Association, link to the local dairy initiative, proved a winning combination with HRH The Prince of Wales loving the tour and he even graded the famous Hawes’ cheese in the Creamery maturing room. His Royal Highness was really engaged with the tour and spoke to everyone from local school Hawes’ children, local farmers, Creamery cheesemakers, to tourists at the new visitor centre.
The Hatch plan and photographic strategy paid dividends with the Wensleydale Creamery leading the share of voice from the royal tour with branded coverage on the front page of The Times and The Yorkshire Post as well as dozens of publications both nationally and internationally including Hello, Daily Mail, Daily Express and ITV
