Can you BELIEVE it’s November?! With the eleventh month upon us, we thought it was time to look back at some of the best campaigns and stories from October, the month that gave us Adidas X Alan Titchmarsh, Star Wars Le Creuset pans and of course, the timeless saga of #WagathaChristie.

The Hatchlings are heading into the final few days of our temporary tenancy in our Glass Box of Emotion – it’s been a rollercoaster and we all know each other a little better after sharing such close quarters. It’s been lovely seeing a new side to the dock – but we’re beyond excited to see what the new office has in store this month!

#ComplaintsWelcome comes to Leeds

Channel 4 had some fantastic coverage and a great response from viewers in recent months for its #ComplaintsWelcome campaign, which saw the brand highlight the controversial, blunt and sometimes downright rude comments from its viewers. It was an exercise in challenging criticism rather than balking at the sight of it and celebrating opinion and free speech. And then: they brought it to Leeds.

Channel 4 announced the move to Leeds last year, heading into its new HQ, at The Majestic in City Square, which is currently under construction. A banner was unveiled across the site on 7th October emblazoned with one of the #ComplaintsWelcome tweets, reading: “Didn’t think Channel 4 knew about life outside the M25”.

Aldi wine goes fancy

In my personal highlight of this month, Aldi have launched ‘The Aldiploma’ – an online hub for customers to learn more about wine, as well as being able to order cases of wine to help them through the modules. Created with the brand’s Mistress of Wine, Sam Caporn, there are six modules to work through in total.

The new, free course has garnered praise from many and received coverage both in trade publications and consumer titles. I know what I’ll be doing in November!

The best of the rest – aka October’s quirky partnerships

Possibly the weirdest brand partnership in the history of time, Alan Titchmarsh was announced as the face of Adidas’ limited-edition range of gardening trainers, which went on sale on last month.

Le Creuset also released its ‘Star Wars’ Collection – the collaboration nobody expected. The range debuted last month and had a hefty price tag, with one Dutch oven hand painted to ‘emulate the double sunset over Tatooine’ costing $900. Other products include a casserole dish featuring the image of Han Solo frozen in carbonite and Droid-patterned cocottes.

Wagatha Christie: A WAG Saga

Finally, we couldn’t do a roundup of the biggest events in social media, without mentioning one of the biggest events of all time! Social media has brought us many things over the years, and the latest gift is Coleen Rooney’s perfectly worded outing of……..Rebekah Vardy’s account. Cue chaos.

We hope you enjoyed this month’s roundup, be sure to come give us a visit next month for more of the latest stories from the world of PR, Social Media, Events and Sponsorship
