We’re now a whole month into WFH, juggling homeschooling, learning a new language, morning yoga and baking banana bread. Well done guys, I am sure you’re smashing it!

The Hatchlings certainly have been, launching some brilliant campaigns for clients and pitching in to make sure business is running as smoothly as possible. April also saw us take on our first pro-bono campaigns for Masks for Heroes and National Tea Day – both were a roaring success with the team securing coverage across the UK. We’re super proud of all the efforts of the team as well as the incredible results!

Anyway, enough blowing our own trumpet, here’s what happened in our world throughout April.

IKEA’s flatpack meatballs

The Swedish homeware brand famous for its flatpack furniture has released the recipe for its iconic meatballs.

You know the ones, they’re the thing you dream about the whole time you’re walking round the carefully planned out route through the shop, whilst somehow managing to spend hundreds of pounds when you only popped in for a vase! (Just me?)

Anyway, they’re delicious and now you can get your fix whilst IKEA stores are closed. If you want to give them a go you can view the recipe here.

Little Big Moments

Children’s book brand Ladybird launched its “Little Big Moments” campaign to help children share reading time with family members they can’t see during the coronavirus lockdown.

Each day, Ladybird will send a pair of matching books to a separated duo so they can read together over the phone or on a video call as a way of helping out stretched parents and reconnecting families who are missing each other during this difficult time.

People can visit www.ladybird.co.uk/littlebigmoments and enter their child’s name for a chance to win.

Camden Heroes

Camden Town Brewery in London has launched a new can design labelled Camden Heroes and it’s giving away a free six pack to all NHS workers.

The brand has even gone blue in honour of the NHS, changing from the usual red which has become synonymous with the brewery.

The redesigned Camden Heroes lager cans are available for the general public to purchase online with the proceeds from every can sold donated to charities supporting healthcare workers during this time.

Know anyone who might want a six pack?

The best of the rest…

PRCA has offered free unlimited access to all of its webinars to furloughed workers in the industry, Instagram now allows users to fundraise during live streaming, and Google launched a campaign to cure people’s boredom by bringing back some of its most popular doodle games.

Finally if you fancy having a laugh, CALM has launched its Twitter comedy club to keep people entertained and raise important messages about people’s mental health during this difficult time. You can view all the gigs on CALM’s Twitter page.
