It’s been a busy, exciting couple of months for Hatch. We’ve parted ways with our London base in Farringdon and headed to a new nest in Spitalfields. Kate Williams, resident booze and food scout, has made the move to the big smoke and gives us the low-down on London life so far…

After years of umm-ing, ahh-ing, travelling and many, many Virgin Trains delays, I’ve finally packed up my bags to set up a life in the big smoke. After three years at Hatch HQ in Leeds, I’m excited to be setting up our new Hatch residence in my favourite area of the city.

You’ll find our new nest on 1 Primrose Street, handily located a 5-minute stroll from Liverpool Street or Shoreditch High Street. With great coffee, beer on tap and meeting rooms aplenty, there’s a few times I’ve contemplated avoiding those East-London rent prices and setting up camp and I’ve been busy getting stuck in with press meetings, networking and events.

Best so far?

The famous Christmas in July has been busier than ever and the office is looking a lot like Santa’s Grotto. We’ve had sample’s flying through the door and daily journalist drops – from gin and Prosecco, to cheese, TV’s and shavers – we’ve been hot on hitting those festive deadlines.

Imbibe Live is Europe’s largest on-trade drinks show and for anyone connected to the drink’s industry, this year’s event was well worth a visit. With interesting talks and demos from the most-respected industry figures, it was the perfect place for learning what’s new and trending and a great chance to meet and network with industry contacts and Europe’s best bartenders and suppliers.

Another chance to see what’s hot in the world of food and drink was Taste of London. Ombra Di Pantera, Hatch’s super-premium Prosecco client, was being poured to those in the hospitality tent and the event was full of interesting pop-ups, talks, demos and culinary delights.

What next?

Other than unpacking boxes and generally getting used to London-life, it’s a busy few months ahead for Hatch with Winter on the way. We’re on with plans for 2018 (scary) and London is a core part of that plan – streets paved with gold apparently. Anyone know what street?
