Blink and you’ve missed it – 2022 is coming to an end. And it has been another fantastic one at Hatch!

Seeing the return of the annual away trip after two years, a variety of fantastic campaigns across clients and did we mention, a World Cup?

Aside from that, we have also hosted plenty of events – including three sold out events at Leeds Digital Festival. We’ve travelled across the country, and further to deliver some incredible campaigns and we’ve wrapped them up here.

Hatch 2022 Favourite Campaigns

It would be rude not to start with the Rugby League World Cup 2021. Following five years of planning, the belated Rugby League World Cup 2021 kicked off in October and over the six weeks of playing, the whole team involved from social, to production and PR did an outstanding job of organizing the biggest and best tournament!

RLWC Trophy

Elsewhere in the world of sport, Hatch’s Nationwide x Where Greatness is Made campaign saw the team visiting St George’s Park to film with the England Men’s and Women’s teams and produce some exceptional content throughout the year, and did we mention, it went viral?!

We were also joined in the Kitchen by Kalvin Phillips and Tyler Roberts, putting their cooking skills to the test in the Hisense Curry Cook-a-long.

We ran a whole host of events for the Northern Superchargers as part of The Hundred tournament – with almost 500 pieces of coverage secured across national and regional media.

Outside the world of sport, the North Yorkshire Water Park opened their zip line and climbing tower which saw the local member of Parliament Robert Goodwill MP and Lord Downe plunging down the zip wire with numerous journalists joining us from Look North, BBC Radio York, The Yorkshire Post and many more!

Elsewhere on the Yorkshire Coast, the Yorkshire Coast Bid team continued to drive increased tourism with a giant trojan horse made from cardboard – securing the Guinness World Record for the largest cardboard structure! Later in the year, the Yorkshire Coast Bid and Hatch teams managed to pull off the first of it’s kind, Laser and Light show up and down the Yorkshire Coast which saw visitors come from all over Yorkshire and beyond and secured fantastic coverage.

When it came to Anti-Bullying Week 2022, it meant it was time for Nationwide x The Diana Award’s Positive Post Box campaign. Over 300 schools across the country took part, with kind message flooding in and causing a few teary eyes across social media!

A bit further afield, we organized not one but two press trips to Seville, Spain for Puerto de Indias where we got to take journalists on a tour of the distillery, so they could learn about the brand history and sample some of their products.

We also got involved in some power pitching events for a number of clients, securing national coverage across the board and attended the CIJ Big Christmas Press Show for both Remington & Russell Hobbs – meeting and getting to know key journalists in person.

We finished off the year with An Icy Christmas, transforming the garden of one well-deserving family into a winter wonderland! Featuring on BBC Leicester, the campaign was a massive success – mainly because it made someone’s Christmas, we love PR that really makes a difference!
